Course Summary:

The Water & Flood Team Leader (WFTL) course, also known as the DEFRA Asset Commander, develops the knowledge and leadership skills required to command water and flood rescue teams during operational incidents. Learners build competence in incident size-up, risk assessment, team deployment, operational planning, site management, welfare considerations, and the safe coordination of water and flood rescue operations in line with national guidance. Attendees must hold an existing module 2 or module 3 qualification,

Assessment Methods:

Continual assessment throughout the course. All learners must participate in all theoretical sessions and exercises.

Certification:

Successful learners will receive a Rescue 3 Europe accredited Water & Flood Team Leader certificate which is valid for 3 years.
