Course Summary:

The Swiftwater & Flood First Responder, course, also known as a DEFRA Module 2, combines classroom learning with practical training for those responding to incidents in and around swiftwater and flood environments. Learners develop skills in dynamic risk assessment, hydrology, flood hazards, wading and swimming techniques, self-rescue, casualty management, and conditional rescue methods, building the knowledge and confidence to work safely in and around moving water.

Assessment Methods:

Continual assessment throughout the course. All learners must participate in all theoretical and practical sessions.

Certification:

Successful learners will receive a Rescue 3 Europe accredited Swiftwater & Flood First Responder certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Accreditation:

This course is accredited by Rescue 3 Europe.
