Course Summary:

The Management of Water & Flood Incidents (MWFI) course, also known as DEFRA Module 5 – Water Incident Manager, is designed for existing DEFRA Module 2 or Module 3 responders progressing into incident management and command roles. Learners develop the knowledge and leadership skills required to manage operational and tactical water and flood rescue incidents, including incident command, risk assessment, multi-agency coordination, search management, resource deployment, site control, and the safe management of complex water and flood rescue operations in line with national guidance. 

Assessment Methods:

Continual assessment throughout the course. All learners must participate in all theoretical sessions and exercises.

Certification:

Successful learners will receive a Rescue 3 Europe accredited Management of Water & Flood Incidents certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Accreditation:

This course is accredited by Rescue 3 Europe.
